Anyone out there know what this flower is called? I have no idea, but it caught my attention on the trail—have never seen anything like it before. Taken August 7, 2010 in Pisgah National Forest, NC.

I love queen anne’s lace—such a detailed, delicate flower. This past weekend, I went backpacking with some good friends and we had the pleasure of walking through a whole field of this. Looking out over it, I was almost convinced that the grass was tipped with snow (the heat, of course, reminded me otherwise). Taken August 7, 2010 in Pisgah National Forest, NC.
